August 11, 2010 - “Behind the Scenes” storeroom tour with Susan Irving at the Prince of Whales Northern Heritage Center in Yellowknife, NWT. During the tour we were introduced to historical items from the Eastern Arctic, including Gabriel Gely paintings of Elizabeth’s relatives (watch Elizabeth’s video about this by clicking here)

During a storeroom tour of the museum at the Prince  of Whales Northern Heritage  Center in Yellowknife, NWT (August 11, 2010), Elizabeth Mukyungnik discovers portraits of  her family  members, Yaha Arnayinar (great grandfather) and Margo  Arnayuinar (great  grandmother).

 Portrait of Margo Atasluk, at Ennadai Lake.  This is one of 12 paintings Gabe Gely produced from sketches he did during a trip with elders back to Ennadai Lake in 1985.
